Steve Huber

​

Steve Huber is a highly versatile composer, arranger, and musician. A graduate of Juilliard, Huber studied under famed violin pedagogues Dorothy DeLay and Sally Thomas. His early career included positions with major orchestras such as the Fort Worth Symphony and the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, as well as concertmaster of Orquestra Filarmonica de Lima in Peru, before transitioning his career to the Los Angeles area to pursue a more diverse musical path.

 

Since moving to Southern California, Huber took on concertmaster roles for many orchestras, including the Brentwood-Westwood Symphony, Culver City Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Surreal, Dream Orchestra, Golden State Pops Orchestra, Hour of Power Orchestra, South Coast Symphony and the Huntington Beach Symphony. His session work extends to recording for film, TV, and video games in major studios like Warner Bros. and Capitol Records. He has performed or recorded solos with notable artists such as Placido Domingo, Porter Robinson, and Keith Emerson.

 

Huber’s compositions have been performed by such ensembles as the Fort Worth Symphony and ETHEL String Quartet, while his arranging work spans a variety of genres, from classical to contemporary, working with artists like Salim-Sulaiman and the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival Players. He also composes for media, with works featured in the short film series "Shorty & Morty" and the web series "Compton Abbey".

 

Huber performs regulalry with the Hutchins Consort as well as the Music With A Mission Chamber Series in Fremont, of which he has contributed many of his arrangements and compositions to both. He has been a faculty member of "Chamberfest," a summer chamber music festival for students based in Fremont, where he teaches chamber music, composition, improvisation, and music theory, since its inception more than a decade ago.
